Occupy W.C. at the Architecture Biennale 2014
The experience proposed by Occupy W.C. to the visitors of the 2014 Architecture Biennale starts from the toilets and extends to the virtual space of the internet. The project presented the voices of eighteen young architects who, embracing our provocation, accepted the invitation to share their work and stories, addressing from their own perspective the theme proposed by Rem Koolhaas: Fundamentals. Voices of professionals whose energy, passion, and precision demonstrate how Italian architecture is today vibrant even outside the mega-projects of the starchitects. As a counterpoint, there are contributions from Luigi Prestinenza Puglisi (President of the Italian Association of Architecture and Criticism) and Luciano Pes (Philosopher). Simona Campus (Art Historian and Curator) offers her reflections on this project.
