About the Author
Luigi Prestinenza Puglisi was born in Catania in 1956. He is an architecture critic and editor of the online magazine presS/Tletter. He is president of the Italian Association of Architecture and Criticism (www.architetturaecritica.it) and editor of the ItaliArchitettura series (Utet Scienze Tecniche), a collection featuring the finest projects completed by Italian architects in recent years.
Not to be missed is his Storia dell’architettura del 1900 (History of Twentieth-Century Architecture), which can be downloaded free of charge from the website and also has its own Facebook page.
He has written numerous books. The one closest to his heart is HyperArchitettura (Testo&Immagine, 1998). His best-selling book is This Is Tomorrow: avanguardie e architettura contemporanea (Testo&Immagine, 1999). The book he wishes had sold more copies is Introduzione all’architettura (Meltemi, 2004). The one that received the best reviews is New Directions in Contemporary Architecture (Wiley, 2008).
His most recent publication is Breve corso di scrittura critica (Lettera 22, Syracuse, 2012), written for anyone interested in writing about architecture. Those who would rather not pay its €8.90 cover price can read it free of charge online at www.presstletter.com.
